The Study Abroad Office is committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all students and works to create a clear, manageable and supportive path to studying abroad.
Going abroad may cause students to encounter unfamiliar, challenging, and thought-provoking situations. Attitudes and perceptions of individual identities will vary from country to country and may be very different from those in the U.S. It is important to research the host culture to learn about common perceptions, social and historical viewpoints, and tolerance and to identify available support systems. Here are some resources that may be helpful as NC State students plan and prepare for study abroad.
