Learn about native habitat, ornamentals, tropical crops, and turfgrass practices in the Dominican Republic. Students will gain an international perspective from local businesses.

Namibia: Ecology & Conservation

Think of Africa and images of a savanna landscape with herds of antelope, elephants, and lions come to mind. This study abroad program takes you there and is designed for students to experience and study a different and unique natural world. It will elevate participant’s understanding of ecology, wildlife management, park management and conservation.

Nicaragua: Tropical Wildlife (Spring Break)

Study in Nicaragua and embark upon an educational tour of tropical ecosystems. Stay on a shade-grown coffee plantation. See over 200 bird species and capture birds and bats in mist nests. Learn about shade-grown coffee, local cultures, and the importance of nature based tourism. View wildlife during a sunset boat ride, search for nocturnal animals and climb the rim of a volcano.

Canada & US: Sustainable Use of Natural Resources

We will travel and study through forested, high desert, and urban landscapes of the Canadian and US Pacific Northwest. We will encounter the traditions and issues surrounding First Nations people and examine the social, economic, and environmental opportunities and challenges of using natural resources sustainably.
