Maggie Harney (She/Her)

Bio

Maggie joined the Study Abroad Office in September 2025 to support Communications and Outreach. She has been working within NC State Global since September 2022 as an International Programs Coordinator in the Office of International Services.

Originally from Atlanta, she moved to Raleigh in 2019 for graduate school. Maggie holds a master’s degree in International Studies from NC State and bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Spanish from the University of Georgia. As an undergraduate student, she studied abroad in Seville, Spain through the UGA en España summer program.

Some of Maggie’s favorite memories overseas were while teaching English to high school students in Chile and Spain from 2016-2019. She completed a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship grant in Madrid which inspired her to pursue a career in international education. She is excited to be a part of Study Abroad’s mission to help the Wolfpack make the world their classroom.
