Participants learn about veterinary acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) during a 1-week workshop in Guangzhou, China (following online study leading up to the program). Students will be exposed to TCVM history, terminology, theory, and practical applications using dogs or horses, and will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Galapagos: Equatorial Zoology and Medicine
Offered each spring, this opportunity will allow NC State College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) students to experience a unique, equatorial archipelago and much of its natural history and cultural offerings. Students will travel to Guayaquil and four islands in the Galapagos archipelago. Excursions will include guided tours of volcanoes, biking to see wild tortoises, snorkeling to see penguins, blue-footed boobies and sea lions, and marine invertebrates.

Uganda: Global Health
Veterinarians have an increasingly important role to play in addressing the grand global challenges of the 21st century, particularly in areas such as infectious disease control, antimicrobial resistance, food security and global health. Tackling these challenges effectively will require multidisciplinary approaches with consideration given to the broader systems that encompass health.
