Bio

Heather joined the Study Abroad Office in January 2022. As an International Programs Coordinator, Heather collaborates with NC State faculty on short-term group programs for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She also helps administer the study abroad scholarship application and review processes.

Heather holds a Master of International Studies with a specialization in International Student Services and Study Abroad from North Carolina State University and a B.A in Spanish and Linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her time as an undergraduate, she studied abroad for a summer in Barcelona, Spain and a semester in Prague, Czech Republic. Between her undergraduate and masters studies, Heather taught English abroad in the countries of Georgia and South Korea. 

Her experience in the field of international higher education includes program development for a large third-party provider of faculty-led programs, interviewing undergraduate student applicants for global programs at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, and a graduate internship with the UNC-CH Study Abroad Office. Most recently, she managed the academic publications for the Department of Romance Studies at UNC-CH while completing her masters degree. Heather is excited to continue working with faculty members to develop exciting group programs that meet the academic needs of students! When not in the office, you can find her trying new restaurants, attending theater productions, watching UNC sports, dabbling with Turkish on Duolingo, and visiting her parents’ dog, Belle.
