Insurance Enrollment, Extensions & Claims

Study Abroad Program Insurance Enrollment

Study Abroad program insurance enrollments for students, as well as faculty and staff program personnel, are processed through the Study Abroad Office. Students will be enrolled according to their program dates.

If health insurance is not included in the program costs, students will have the expense billed to their NC State Student Account, or in some cases, the cost will be billed to their department (and reimbursement may be required by the department).

If you would like to extend the dates of your insurance coverage after your enrollment has been processed, you may do so using the instructions outlined below.

Travel Gateway Insurance Enrollment

Students traveling abroad in affiliation with NC State will register their travel plans in the International Travel Gateway.  The Study Abroad Office will process your GeoBlue international health insurance enrollment based on the travel dates provided by the student in the itinerary. Unless otherwise indicated, the cost of insurance will be billed directly to the student’s NC State student account.

After enrollment has been processed, travelers will receive confirmation emails from GeoBlue and the Study Abroad Office.

If you would like to extend the dates of your insurance coverage after your enrollment has been processed, you may do so using the instructions outlined below.
