Home Institution & Study Abroad Term:

Spring, University of Western Australia; Perth, Australia

Major/Minor:

Mass Communications and Psychology in Society

Why did you choose to study abroad?

It was recommended to me by a close friend and I love traveling.

What did you learn about yourself?

I can actually take care of myself. I can be put in a new situation and handle it/make friends.

What was one of your favorite parts of your program?

Living in the global village and making friends there.

What advice do you have to future incoming exchange students?

Make sure you take advantage of all the events. This is how you get to know people.

Did you live on campus or off campus? What was your experience like?

On campus. Alexander hall was the best.

Did you have a meal plan while you were at NC State? Do you have advice for incoming students on choosing a meal plan?

No, it’s not worth it. You can actually eat more variety cheaper if you don’t have one. It is convenient though. Also depends on how much you eat. I only eat two meals a day so it was more costly than it was worth.

How were your classes at NC State different than if you would have taken them at your home university? Did you take any field trips or do anything outside of the traditional classroom?

Classes were MUCH easier than in my home university. We had a lot of guest speakers come in from different industries but no excursions.

Would you do it again?

Absolutely, yes!
