Prague Connection, hosted at NC State Prague, is a 12 week study abroad program designed specifically for Spring Connection students. Students earn 13 NC State credits before coming to campus for the spring semester. Class sizes are small and students will be placed in a cohort of Spring Connection peers, with the opportunity to interact with other NC State study abroad participants. Students will be immersed in learning, while utilizing the historic and beautiful city of Prague as their classroom. Benefits include:

Students will be enrolled in 13 NC State credits, that will count directly to the NC State degree. Each course has been specifically designed for and only available to Prague Connection students. Students fulfill General Education Program (GEP) requirements in: Natural Science, Humanities, Social Science and Global Knowledge.
- PY 123: Stellar and Galactic Astronomy (3 credits)
- PY 125: Astronomy Laboratory (1 credit) *co-req of PY 123
- NR/IDS 303: Humans and the Environment (3 credits)
- SOC 202: Principles of Sociology (3 credits) OR IPGK 295: The Rhythm of Life (3 credits)
- FL 295: Special Topics in Foreign Languages and/or Literatures – Czech Language and Culture (3 credits)
The Prague Connection program is highly structured and includes courses taught by both NC State faculty and European faculty. The NC State Prague Director and several full-time support staff based in Prague are also available to assist students. Additionally, experienced NC State students will be on-site, participating in a concurrent study abroad program during the Fall 2017 semester. Students from both programs will join the same on-site orientation as well as several shared excursions.
The program starts in Prague on August 28 with a two-day orientation. During these two days, students participate in activities and discussions to develop community, clarify expectations, and introduce the approach to courses at NC State Prague.
Students spend 12 weeks in Prague, using the city and NC State Prague as their classroom. The program utilizes the historical city by visiting numerous museums, national monuments, cultural landmarks, and other significant venues to engage students in their course work-providing first hand experiences that inform critical and creative thinking. While in the Czech Republic, students also take multiple cultural weekend excursions and participate in specialized workshops.

(Students will be automatically enrolled through Non-Degree Studies during the Fall 2017 semester in Prague.)

Sample Program Excursions and Field Trips
Students will be responsible for arranging flights on their own. However, a suggested flight itinerary will be shared upon acceptance so that students can travel together. Transportation will be arranged from the airport in Prague to student accommodations.
Routine processing time for passports is 6-8 weeks. Students are strongly encouraged to begin the passport application process while completing the Prague Connection application process, for those who do not already have a valid passport.
