Non-NC State Summer and Short Term Programs: Insurance Coverage Policy

  • NC State students participating in Non-NC State Summer and Short-Term Study Abroad are required to purchase health insurance coverage through the Study Abroad Office. This will be effective starting Fall 2016.
  • We have evaluated the policies included by several of the most common providers our students utilize and have found that they do not offer the same level of coverage provided by GeoBlue.
  • Coverage dates will be based upon the dates provided by the individual in the “NC State Students on Non-NC State Programs” questionnaire.
  • See Insurance Rates
  • The Study Abroad Office offers insurance coverage for dependents or coverage extension for up to 30 days beyond the dates of the program. For dependent or extension coverage please see Additional Insurance Coverage Policy.
