Kyle joined the Study Abroad Office in July 2018. As an International Programs Coordinator, some of Kyle’s professional responsibilities include:

  • Managing partnerships in France, Italy, and Spain
  • Collaborating with faculty/staff study program directors from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to manage and develop short-term study abroad programs
  • Coordinating pre-departure and re-entry programming for study abroad students
  • Leading the office’s Gilman/Gilman-McCain Scholarship advising efforts
  • Advising the Pack Abroad Ambassadors

Originally from the mountains of North Carolina, Kyle had his first international experience in high school when his father’s bluegrass band toured Austria and Germany. As an undergraduate, Kyle was able to study abroad for a semester in Costa Rica through the support of the Gilman Scholarship Program. In graduate school, Kyle participated in a short-term study abroad program in the United Kingdom.

Kyle holds an M.A. in Student Affairs Administration from Appalachian State University and a B.A. in Education from Elon University. Prior to joining the Pack, Kyle worked in the Office of International Programs at Wofford College. Kyle serves on Diversity Abroad’s LGBTQI+ Task Force and is committed to ensuring study abroad programs are more accessible and inclusive. An avid runner, Kyle has completed numerous races throughout the Triangle – including two half-marathons this year.
