Study Abroad Advisor
Amanda joined the Study Abroad Office in August 2019. As a Study Abroad Advisor, Amanda advises undergraduate students for the Colleges of Engineering, Design, and Natural Resources, and she coordinates the office’s New Student Orientation activities and Study Abroad 101 Information Sessions.
Amanda is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and had her first international experience at the age of 16 via the People to People Student Ambassador Program in Australia. The Ambassador Program was an eye-opening experience and made Amanda realize travel and connecting with people were passions she wanted to explore moving forward, which makes working in study abroad a perfect fit. As a graduate student, Amanda studied in Heredia, Costa Rica for a full semester.
Amanda holds an M.A. in International Studies from East Carolina University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the Pack, Amanda worked in the Office of Global Affairs at East Carolina University and the Office of International Education at the University of Texas at Arlington. Amanda loves basketball, cooking, reading, traveling to new cities, and restoring furniture. She is excited to help NC State students reach their goals of furthering their education abroad.
