The First Year Inquiry (FYI) in Prague study abroad program is rooted in the value of combining two high impact experiences that have been proven to lead to greater student involvement and success. These FYI courses taught abroad are designed to engage students and focus on the development of critical and creative thinking skills. As with all FYI courses, class size remains under 20 students, making discussion a critical and essential component of the course. In addition to the value of an FYI course, this program further benefits students by placing that course in a global context. Students will not only read about their course content, but they will live it. Students who study abroad are placed in a new and unfamiliar environment. By navigating this new context students begin to develop intercultural skills, growing in and out of the classroom. In addition to cultural, personal, social and academic growth, students who study abroad are more marketable upon graduation.
