Meet Quinn Parker

Program and Location:

International Marketing in Buenos Aires; Buenos Aires, Argentina

Why did you choose to study abroad?

I decided to study abroad during the second semester of junior year. I thought I had lost my opportunity to do a summer study abroad since I had already committed to an internship but this program was the perfect fit for my situation! It allowed me to study abroad for 3 weeks and still start my internship on time!

What did you learn about yourself?

I learned that I love to try new things! I was able to do things that I never thought I could do. I tried new foods, learned the tango, repelled down a mountain, and completed a 7 hour hike!

What was one of your favorite parts of your program?

My favorite part of the program was having the opportunity to explore the city of Buenos Aires!

What advice do you have for future study abroad students?

My advice to future study abroad students is to take advantage of the opportunities you have while studying abroad! You never know if you will have the chance to try it again.

How were your classes abroad different than if you would have taken them at NC State? Did you take any field trips or do anything outside of the traditional classroom?

The classes abroad went at a much faster pace. We learned about 17 chapters in 3 weeks. Even though this was stressful at times, I learned so much about international marketing and felt comfortable asking questions! The field trips we took for our classes helped expand my knowledge of the culture which is something that wouldn’t happen at NC State.

Would you do it again?

Yes!
