UNCEP logoThe Location

The state of Baden-Wuerttemberg is located in the southwest corner of Germany, bordering France and Switzerland. The state contains some of the most beautiful landscapes in Germany, including the Black Forest, the Rhine River valley, and Lake Constance. Through the UNC-EP exchange, NC State students may study at any one of the nine universities of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The University

Tübingen: A university town since the middle ages, Tübingen offers excellent programs in the humanities and medicine; German for foreign students courses are very strong here.

A one-month intensive language program is offered prior to each semester. This program is tuition-free for UNC-EP participants. The fall semester runs from mid-October to mid-February, and the spring semester runs from early April to late July. There is a two week break at Christmas and a two month break between semesters.

Students on this program for a full academic year may wish to consider arranging a paid internship during the February-March break between semesters. Students must find their own placements, but the international offices and/or career services offices at the German universities can assist students in finding job search resources.

Accommodation

Most German and international students live in single rooms in student residences equipped with kitchens.
