The Study Abroad Development Grant program funds NCSU faculty members who wish to initiate new study abroad programs to enhance internationalization of the university. This funding will allow faculty members to make site visits necessary for the development of new study abroad programs. The award will primarily cover travel-related expenses, plus others related to the new program.
ACC Initiative for New Summer Education Abroad Programs
Learn more about the ACC's initiative for creating new summer education abroad programs in 2008. Up to $50,000 in grant money was available from the ACC for these new programs, which must involve at least two ACC institutions and be offered for at least two years. Proposals for new collaborative education abroad programs are due April 15, 2007. Preference is given for new programs in South/Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, or Eastern Europe (regions can be broadly defined).
Internationalization Seed Grants are designed to assist NC State University faculty members to initiate research and other scholarly professional activities that address international topics and enhance the internationalization of the University. The University Standing Committee on International Programs (CIP) oversees the review and award process for these grants. Awards are intended to serve as seed money leading to follow-up support obtained from outside granting agencies. Previously awarded grants are listed on the Office of International Affairs Webpage under Funding: http://www.ncsu.edu/oia/seedgrantsawards.html
Seed Grants being awarded for the 2007-08 Fiscal Year, will provide a maximum of $4,000 for any single award. We anticipate that funds will be available July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008. Applicants should be aware that, in recent years, award funds have not always been provided on July 1, due to budget uncertainties. Applicant's salary is not allowed, but international scholarly expenditures, including travel, may be funded.
