The Study Abroad Office wants more students from NC State to study abroad. At the same time, we need to see that students have been successful on-campus to ensure the greatest likelihood for success abroad.
- Minimum GPA Requirement (many programs require higher)
- Summer Programs: 2.0
- Semester Programs: 2.5
- Minimum Class Standing (some programs require higher)
Students can study abroad as soon as the summer after their freshman year or after completing at least one semester at NC State.
Students are not eligible to participate if on active disciplinary probation, as defined by Section 11.2 in the NC State Code of Student Conduct, at the time of program start. If a student is on active academic integrity probation, as defined by Section 9.1, a special review will be required before determining eligibility for study abroad. For all Code of Conduct violations, all sanctions imposed by the Office of Student Conduct must be completed prior to the start of the program.
