Emergency Assistance

The Study Abroad Office (SAO) is available 24 hours/day to assist students and faculty while on study abroad programs.  The SAO will consult with members of the Study Abroad Emergency Response Team (SAERT), as needed, and connect the individual to appropriate resources.

Emergencies

  • For emergencies during office hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST) please contact the Study Abroad Office.

  • Outside office hours please contact the NC State University Police Department (UPD). UPD will contact the Study Abroad Emergency Response Team.

  • Collect calls are accepted by the SAO and UPD.
  • Faculty Directors: After receiving assistance on-site, as soon as possible please submit a Study Abroad Incident Report for all incidents, including emergencies.

Non-Emergencies

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act)

  • The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires US colleges and universities who participate in Title IV federal student financial aid programs to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses, or in off-campus facilities. Study Abroad programs are subject to the Clery Act and therefore, the Study Abroad Office must submit information about crimes to the NC State University Police.
  • Please complete and submit a Campus Security Authority Incident Report Form and Study Abroad Incident Report Form as soon as possible after becoming aware of a crime or any other incident.
